Two small boys about 10 years of bge, Thomas Elliot and A. M. Maxwell, were brought up at the Police Court today on, a charge of stealing a horse and bridle. The horse wa« the property of a man named Thomas, and, was taken by the lads early in the morning and sold by them to a man named John Biordan, who gave them 7s 6d for theanimal. Mr Braddeley, who was on the benoh, sentenced the boys to ten days' imprisonment, and ordered that they be separated from the other prisoners, whilst they receive a whipping with the birch rod.

At the coroner's inquest on the body of ißaao Bairstow, who was thrown from his horse on the Masterton to Carterton road, and instantly killed, the jury returned a verdiot of accidental death.
