An official bulletin states that the Emperor is experiencing bad nights, with high fever and shortness of breath. It is stated unofficially that the disease is extending down the windpipe, and that the growth is threatening to block the passage altogether. April 17. The Emperor is much worse, inflammation of the lungs haying set in. He is thought to be in a rery critical condition. Frinoe William has been appointed to act for him in the transaction of State business. All the members of the Royal Family have assembled at Charlottenburg, owing to the serious condition of the Emperor's health. The condition of the Emperor is worse, and on Thursday last he was almost suffocated. April 18. Prince Bismarck and Prince William were hastily summoned to the Emperor's presence, and with the family remained all night alongside his Majesty's bed. The appointment of Prince William to act for the Emperor in transacting business of the state has been confirmed. The specialists declare that the Emperor's lungs are inflamed. The fever returned at midnight. Sir Moroll Mackenzie attributes the abscesses to an affection of the trachea. The Emperor appeared at his bedroom window twice yesterday, and bowed to the crowds assembled outside.
