The Unemployed in Dunedin

| PER UWITED PRESS ASSOCIATION. | Dunedin, This Day. A deputation of about 200 working men waited on the Premier this morning and expressed a hope that the Government would provide work for them. They said the condition of affairs here is very bad, many families being on toe borders of starvation. They were willing to take work in town or country. The Premier said he would look, into the matter and see what could be done, but the principle laid down by the Government was all local chanties should be thrown on the locnl bodies unless the cause was so desperate that the local bodies could not cope with it. If that were the case in Dunedin the Govern* meat would immediately have to do something. _____^_^_____
