George Thomas and Co. repott produce prices as follows": — Operationo in all classes of the new season* grain are now general, and samples all round are of superior quality and well harvested, particularly oats and wheat ; prices for the former show a slight decline en the values of old grain, and rule from Is 9d to Is lOd for Danish and Tartarian) and 2s to 2s Id for prime short feed. The winter demand for chaff is being experienced ; oaten sheaves command L 3 15a to L 4, and straw L 3. Oatmeal (old stock) is unaltered at £9 5s to L 9 108; milling wheat has but little local demand, and nominal values are from 3s 3d to 3s 6d; per bushel; flour (old grist), L 9 10s to L 9 15s ; new ditto, L 8 15s to L 9 per ton; maize, slack at 4s ; feed barley, 2s lid ; pollard, L 3 10s; bran, L 3 ; field peas 3s 9d ; garden ditto, 6s 6d ; beans, 3s 9d , per bushel ; cocksfoot, 4d per ib; pearl barley, Ll9 10s; bacon and hams, scarce at 7£d; onions £&; potatoes, Oamaru £2 15s, Blenheim £2 10s; fresh butter, 7£d; honsy, 4d; cheese 4d to 4£d; eggs firm at Is 6d. Pears, apples, plums, oranges, lemons, tomatoes, cucumbers and grapes are now the only description available. Poultry is ruling as follows :— Fowls, 3a ducks, 3s 6d to 4s; geese, 6b; and turkey*, 8s per pair*
