FEILDING JOCKEY CLUB.

The annual meeting of the Feilding Jockey Club was held yesterday, and j passed ofE very successfully. The j weather was anything but favorable for the day's sport, aud only about 600 persons were present. The course , was in very bad order, owing to -the recent wet weather, and four or five ; spills occurred during the day but no one was seriously hurt. The only delay during the day was caused by ' the protests, in the Hack Hurdles and the Handicap, the latter being a most [ frivolous one. ' The racing on the whole was good, and the large fields inthe hack races were productive of good sport, and in two cases of large dividends. Spray's win in the Feild- ■ ing Handicap was a very popular one, j and her owner, Mr C. Henry, was, warmly congratulated on her victory. ' Spray paid her admirers the handsome , dividend of £13 19s. Arab, in the j Hack' Race, paid the capital dividend of "£24 18s. The whole of the offic- I iala worked well in the performance of their duties, and the Secretary, Mr Sandilands is deserving of a meed of praise for his energetic services. Messrs Light and Summers' publican and refreshment booths were apparently well patronised, ac was also Mr Smith's refreshment booth, and the proceedings on the whole were very, orderly. The sum of £1413 was put through the totalisator, which was worked by Messrs Adams and Andrew, of Auckland.
