(eeb united prfss association^ Auckland, This Day. George Haines, a storekeeper at Pahi, was accidentally shot dead while pig hunting' in company with a man named Swallow. The latter had no gun, but Haines carried a double- barrel breech* loader. It is supposed he was using it to club a wounded pig nhen it went off, killing him instantly.
