Cricket Match at Ashhurst

{from oto own correspondent.!

The return match between the Ashhurst and Mangaone Cricket Clubs was played at Ashhurst on Saturday last (St. Patrick's Day), and resulted, after a hard fought game, in the Mangaone team winning the match by 1 3 runs. The ground was in splendid condition after the rain the previous erening, which made the game thoroughly enjoyable. The Ashhurut team were on the ground to receive their visitors, and treated them throughout the day right royally. Two tents were pitched on the ground, in which refreshments were liberally dispensed. The day being very fine a large number of visitors were present, many of whom were ladies, and all appeared to take a lively interest in the play. At the conclusion of the gan>e Mr Cotter, captain of the Ashhurst team, called for three cheers for the visitors, which compliment was heartily returned, and then three real good ones by all hands for the lady visitors brought a very pleasant day's proceedings to a close.
