The funeral of the late Emperor took place to-day. The weather was bleak and cheerless, but an immense' crowd assembled at the doors of the cathedral. The whole length of the route was draped in black, and lined by infantry four deep. The service in the cathedral was most solemn and impressive. The remains of the late Emperor was placed on a funeral car, and the cortege proceeded to the Eoyal Mansoleum at Charlottenburg, The roadway was strewn with leaves and wreaths, and even the sound of the horses' hoofs were inaudible. After the funeral service was concluded at the Mausoleum, a blessing was pronounced, and the artillery fired a salute.

The Emperor Frederick HI, who was to have taken the oath, of allegiance yesterday, has suggested to the Diet that they should accept a message countersigned by Ministers m lieu of the oath, whioh he promises he will take when his health improves.
