TO THE EDITOR. i OIR, — Will you kindly insert these few V* 5 * lines in your widely circulated paper , for the benefit of whoever it inay concern; have a child who has been afflicted •with an obstinate skin disease of a mos« itching nature for more than seven years. When six weeks old, or thereabouts, small reddish spots appeared in the tac^ about the size ef a pin's nead. Of course, a medical man was applied to, but it steadily increased until face and head were one dark brown crust of seres. Then it spread to the body, chest, back, .joints and all fleshy parts. Medical skill appeared to be of no use, but often made him worse. In despair I looked, ' upon the doctors as useless beings of the, community. On the 17th of Septen.be.t last the child was shown to Dr SpKfcß,; oow residing in Wellington. On lookm* at him for a minute or two he struck at, the root of the disease at once, as a man ■bfigreat skill can do. After the first five •days' treatment, small strips of healthy akin became visible; in less than a month the skin was clean ; two months a, wonderful improvement on the body. After four months' treatment there only remains a few marks on his legs and. wrists. The child is still under l)r Speeb's care, as he declares it will take some time yet to entirely remove it from, "his system. It must al-so not be forgotten to add that the medicines have not had the least unpleasant effect on the internal organs, which always was the case in previous treatments. So I can conn-, .dently advise anyone who should be so unfortunate as to require medical aid, to ;-» -Dr SMM ' OT "£Xj» rsonJ Johnsonville, 23rd Jariuary, 1888.
