Wellington, February 22. Tbe market for beef was better than last sale, the bidding being brisk | throughout. Sheep were at last sale's j Value. Hgs were well competed for, and sold freely. The sales were as follows:— Cattle— Bullocks, L5 to L 5 10s, averaging L5 5s 4d ; smaller line, L_ 15s to L5, averaging L 4 19s 4d ; another line made L 5 4s. We quote beef at 14s the 1001 bs. Sheep— Wethers. 8s 2d to 8s 6d ; ewes, 6s to 6s 3d ; shorn lambs, 5s 9d to to 5s lid. Pigs — Large have-fatted pigs 21s 6d ; porkers, 14s 9d to 16s ; small . stores, 9s. J ■ ■ ■ ■
