Haweba, February 22. The Egmont Eacing Club held their first day's racing in beautiful weather. Appended are the results: — Handicap Hurdles, of 75 soys; 2 miles.— Allegro (9st 9lb), I ; Blue Bell (lOst 101 b), 2; Waitangi (lOst 121 b), 3. Dividend, £4 19s. The Hack Hurdles fell to Promotion, beating seven others. Sapling Eace, of 40 soys.— Eecluse, 1 ; Cushla, 2 ; Prudence 3. Egmont Handicap, of 175 soys; 2 miles.— Mr Keith's Dudu (6st 71b), 1; Mr Williamson's Clogs, 2 ; Mr Sommerville's Balista, 3. Laurel, Tongariro, and Warama were scratched. After a fair start Euapehu west to the front at a tremendous pace, closely followed by Armourer, Balista, Clogs, and Dudu in the order utmied, which state of affairs was maintained to the grand stand the first time.
