TO THJS EDITOR. .■< IB,— Will you kindly insert these few lines in jour widely circulated paper for the benefitof whoever it may concern. I Lave a child who has been afiiicted with an obstinate skin disease of a most itching nature for more than seven years. ;Wheu six weeks old, or thereabouts, r smaU reddish spots appeared in the tace, ab>ut the size ef a pin's head. Or course, a medical man was applied to, but it' steadily increased until face and • head were one dark brown crust of sores. V" Then it'spread to the body, chest, back, /; ioinis and all fleshy parts. Medical skill appeared to be of i;O use, but often made him worse. In despair I looked upon the doctors as useless, beings of the community. On the 17th of September last :the child was shown to Dr Spkeb, now residing in Wellington. On looking at him for a minute qr.twp he struck at the root of the disease at once, as a man of great skill can do. After the first five days'" treatment, small strips of healthy skin became visible; in less than a month the skin was clean ; two months a wonderful improvement on the body. After four months' treatment there only remains a few marks on his legs and wrists. The child is still under l)r Spbeb's care, as he declares it will take aome time yet to entirely remote it from "his system. It must also not be forgotten to add that the medicines have not had the least unpleasant effect .on the internal organs, which always was the case m previous treatments. So I can confidently advise anyone who should be so unfortunate as to require medical aid, to ,»11 on D, SMEEfor «£-^f ° O ' N . Johnsonville, 23rd January, 1888.
