K FOR THE WELLINGTON BRAND. Manufactured only by W. &J. Staples at their Factory. St Hill street, and sold by all Storekeepers and Shoemakers in the Atauawatu District. pHESE celebrated Boots of the Wellington Brand have stood the test for ? the last 8 years in both the South and North Islands, and are to-day looked for as eagerly as ever amon* the denizens of the busy city as well as on the station or in the bush. Their fame is known to all. The proof of the GREAT DEMAND FOR THESE BOOTS is in the fact that W. & J. Staples had to increase their staff to meet the requirements. The firm no^/ employs 100 hands solely occupied in turning out the Celebrated Wellington Brands. Their reputation has risen from the fact that nothing but First-class Materials are used, and none but experienced and careful workmen are employed in their manufacture. Let all those who want Good, Comfortable, and Hard-wearing Boots 'good fit) BUY THE WELLINGTON BRAND 1 and we are certain they will NEVER USE ANY OTHER. Being direct importers from the European Markets, as well as extensive local manufacturers ourselves, places us in a position to undersell any other establishment in this line, Every Boot and Shoe is guaranteed to give full satisfaction to purchasers, especially those manufactured by us, and bearing our brand, a brand which, to use or imitate, except by ourselves, is a felony, and will be punished according to law. W. & J. STAPLES. BOOT MANUFACTURERS, WILLIS STHEKT. WELLINGTON". ?iy N ° l7 - Hol7 iflt WILLIS STREET, WELLINGTON. AEID & CrRAY'S New Zealand Twine Binder. In asking our friends to buy from N<»w Zetland makers, we would point out a few of the benefits which won d accrue through so doing. Duplicates would be easier pot and generally cheaper; and frmn the facilities ai our disposal — viz., our branches in diif rent parts of New Zealand,— wn can supply any parts of machines Irom any of these branches at an hour's notice ; other makers may, and do claim to be able to do this, but fanners find to their cost, and our experience hears them out, that it cannot be done with imported machines. We have known of" cases where farrers with a broken down imported Binder have had ro wait a week during rhe busiest part of harvest tune before they jrot supplied. Hid such baen a machine of our make, it would have been at work within a few hours. All parts of machines are numbered and accurately duplicated, and we challenge comparison with the best imported in that respect ; and while n^kmg farmers to purchase our Binder, we may state that it is now generally recognised that our machine is at least as good as the best imported, ami much superior to many of them in every requisite of a serviceable Binder. We append a few ot many Testimonrtls received tor our Kinder ; but the best Testimonial is ths tict that last year no less than 43 were sold in one district, alone. Te RortE VV'jiST, Waipa, August 11, 1887. The Reaper and Binder I bought from you last harvest made very good work on all sorts of ground, f cut some very steep sidliags, the Binder sliding a foot at once and at the same time cutting and binding a very neat sheaf° IS\AC HODGSON. Ckntre Bi^h, March 27, 1886. The Reaper and Binder I purchased from you this season has givenj me entire satisfaction. I cut and tied 140 acres in 11 days, and made a really good job. She tied well and left a good clean stubble, a' though some of rhe crop was very light and other parts of" it were »ood. 1 consider your Binder quite equal to aiy of the imported machines, and much lighter of draught than some that were working in the same paddock with me. f several times worked the same team of three h.jrsos the whole day, although I had a spare team beside me, I had no stoppage from time of starting till 1 finished, and I am thoroughly satisfied f.hat I have a really good and serviceable machine, and one chat will last me a good many seasons. ALEXANDER SHAND.
