T have a child who has been afil'eted; with an obstinate skin disease of a most itching nature for more than seven years. When six weeks old, or thereabouts, small reddish spots appealed in the tace, about the size of a pin's head. Of course, a medical man was applied to, : but it steadily increased until face and tiead were one dark brown, crust of seres: Then it spread to the body, chest, back,; iom!s and all fleshy parts.- Medical skill appeared to be of no use, but often, made him worse. In de>pinr J. looked; upon the doctors as useless beings of the community. On the 17th of , September. l*st the child was shown to Dr Spkbb, now residing in Wellington. On looking at him for a minute or two he struck at the r : o6t of the disease at once, as a man of great skill can do. After the firstfive, days' treatment, small strips of. healthy skin became visible; in less than a : moi th the skin was clean ; two months a wonderful improvement on the body. After four months' treatment there only remains a few marks on^his legs and wrists. The tfiild is still under Dr Speeb's care, as he declares it will take some time jet to entirely remove it from his system. It must also not be forgotten to add that tl»e medicines have not bad the least unpleasant effect, on the internal organs, whicn always was the case in Tn-evious treatments. So I can conndently adyise anyone who should be so <uufortunate as to require medicaj r aid, to caU on Dr Speeb for Johnsonville, 23rd January, 1888.
