A deputation waited on the Marquis of Salisbury to-day in reference to the question of emigration, and also to ask the Government to devise means to proj tect the labor market fr»m foreigners. i The Premier, ia reply, said he regretted the Government were unable to assist persons to emigrate, and that in regard to the request of the deputation it would be ; a most difficult matter to interfere with i the influx of foreigners. I The Standard states to day that both j Germany and Austria have jointly repre- I sented to the Russian Cabinet the danger \ of continuing preparations for war, which are only construed as threats. ; Beblik, February 5. It is stated that Prince Bismarck has had an interview with the leaders of the parties with reference to the Army Bill which is now before the Reichstag. He explained to them privately the present situation of affairs in Europe, and painted out that it would be impolitic at present to have the information he disclosed to them made public. Massowah, February 2. News reached here to-day from the Italian encampment that toe outposts had signalled to the main body that the Abyssinian forces were on the point «f attacking them. The news created a great sensation here, and farther intelligence ii eagerly awaited. Dublin, February 4. As a result of the investigations of the detectives into the murder of a boycotted farmer at Tralee, it is expected that the murderers will be identified. Two priests have taken proceedings against Bishop Moran in the Bolls Court, with a view to making the reverend gentleman account for £2000, which the plaintiffs allege that he received for the relief of the poor priests in the Ossory parish. Bishop Moran replies that she money which came into his possession was in* tendefd for general purposes, but the petitioners, repudiate this suggestion and take the present proceedings on the ground of fraud.
