On Thursday night a meeting attended by between 40 and 50 ratepayers, was held in the Ashhurst Hall, at whioh it, was proposed and carried without a single dissentient, that another poll be taken, including only a part of the ward, - for a loan tojmake Pohangina, Bunnythorpe, - Ashhurst j Old Napier, Galla- 1 ghers, Salisbury and Haiilon's roads, also a road from Stoney Creek to '] Heneghan's. A petition to the Board , was drawn up and signed by nearly every person in the hall, and Warden Treme wan -was asked to present it on Saturday'^ meeting of the I Board as it was felt that no time must be lost if we are to escape having] long' ' -miles of impassable bog holes in lieu ■' of roads during the coming winter. * '
