STEVENS AND GORTON'S STOCK REPORT.
Bulls, January 14. We had very large entries of stock at Palmerston last week, and though we sold nearly everything the bidding was not spirited and the prices compared with previous sales were decidedly lower. At Bulls our entries were smaller than usual, the bidding for cattle was dull. For sheep there was a fair demand. We sold all excepting one line. We had a very dull horse sale at Bulls yesterday, the attendance was fair, but no buyers were among them, we only sold 10 out of between 90 and IQO offered. We quote : — Cattle. — Palmerston : — Fat small bullocks, £4 10/- ; 3 and 4-year bullocks, £4 to £4 8/6 ; 2-year steers, £2 17/- ; 2-year steers, good, £2 16/-; forward cows with calves, £3 ; store cows, 32/6 to 39/6; mixed yearlings, 25/-; £-year heifers, 18/6.
