A correspondence writes as follows : — A gentleman residing in Feiiding was a few days ago told by some children that one of his hens had a nest in the road outside his fowl yard, he found the story true, and the hen comfortably sitting on nine eggs. He rewarded the children and told them on no acoount to disturb her as he had every reason to beheye she had been sitting for some time. But when the owner went at night to remove the hen to a safer place, she was there it is true, but the eggs had all disappeared. A boy, whose name is well-known, has since been heard to boast of having taken the eggs and wilfully broken them finding a chicken in each. The same gentleman, the owner of the hen, has since had a number of ripe strawberries stolen out of his garden, and suspicion is very strong against the thief who took the eggs, or a near relative of his. If these young thieves do not mend their ways they stand a geod chance of being imprisoned or otherwise punished. In addition to the ordinary attractions of a large stock of Drapery and.
