From a return made . to the House of Representatives anent licensing distriots, licenses issued, and breweries, we learn that 2677 licenses to sell liquor were issued in 1886. Thirty-eight new applications and eighteen renewals were refused. There are 115 breweries paying Lllo m fees, and L 53.047 as duty on 4,242,760. gallons of beer. The amount E aid fpr this if the brewers would be ioOO.OOO, and ip r.ejtail vendors from tho consumers about Ll, 2oo^o W.
