I The death is announced, at the age of j 74, of George Alexander McParren. - I Sir H. Holland addressed a meeting at I Hampstead yesterday. Befemng to Mr Gladstone's utterances on the Irish ques- ! tion, he said he was practically preaching rebellion to the Irian people. The effect of his speeches was most dangerous, be- ' cause a larger sense was attributed to the J meaning than the actual words warranted. His Excellency the Viceroy is in receipt of a communication from His Highness the Eajak of Eapurthalla, in which the latter offera a donation of 5 lakhs of mpees (£50,000) for, the Indian Defence Fund. Durban, November 1. Latest news from Zululand announces that Dunizul'i and Unda Buko, the Zulu chief, having refused to meet Sir Arthur Havelock, the latter has advanced with jus troops upon Dunizulu's hiding place, and fighting is expected to take place.
