From the Dover Standard, of June 4tK, 1887^ we glean the following particulars, in connection with the above institution, which should prove of interest to members of the Order in this district. At the annual meeting of delegates, to the number of 473," held in the Dover Town Hall, the Grand Master, in a lengthy and congratulatory speech, quoted the following figures, showing the progress! the Order lias made in the Old Country during the past year: The Order on Ist January, 1886, consisted of 665,922 members ; admitted during the year. 39,938 ; total, 645,860. Lost by death, 7433 ; suspended pr seceded, 20,840 ; total, 28,273. Number. of members, January Ist, 1887, .617i587. Net increase duniig the year,, 11,665. - Juvenile Societies,— On the Ist January, 1886, returns were given by 5.60 branches, the number of members being 30,600. On the first: January, 1887, returns were received from 761 branches; number of members, 38,375; mcease of branches, 201 ; increase of members, 7,775.;': '• : v "■: : ... -..<-: ■ Total number of adult and juvenile members, 655,962. , . Payments— For nek benefits, £498,294 19s 4d,; for 'fun?- , era! ! benefits, £131,177: J«s W-J W4:, £629,472 15s sd. Increase, £235,190. The capital; of the Society on January Ist, 1886, as shown by the returns i&r , ceiyed, is as foUows :— Sick and funeral funds of lodges, £5,713,694 13s. 9d; djstrict funeral funds, £168,498 4s lOdjl management funds of lodges, £74, 815 18s sd; management funds of districts,, £4,695 ; widow 'and oi<phans socjetif^ < £291,645 17s Id; past grand lodges,! £6,537 16s ; juvenjle societies, £3J.,G1<3 ; 6s 9d; benevolent or other .fund*, £26,- j 230 Ilsßd j; total, £6,3*7,134 6s «d.
