Tuesday, May 31st, 1887. Present — Messrs Carson (chairman), Ross, Sanson, Baker, Bridge, Frj, and Notman. Taonui — Mr Fry reported on the Taonui School, which was in rather a lpaky state. The residence needed small repairs being done to it. He recommended various repairs. — Report adopted, a sum not exceeding £17 10s being voted for it. The matter was left to the school committee to carry out under Mr Fry's supervision. Resolved, That the secretary write to Sergeant Donovan asking him to put up a fence between his property and the school ground at Taonui. Upper Taonui — Letter from Mr Slipper, the teacher, re the receipt of the Inspector's reports. Letter receivod. Makino Road — Application for grant of £3 for shelter sheds. Cannot be entertained at present. Cheltenham— Application for requisites and tank for this school and ICimbolton Road School Requisities granted, and tank refused. Grant for re-erection of partition refused. Maugaone— Application for shelter sheds. Cannot be granted at present. Awahuri. — Application for a change of midwinter holidays. The teacher ! asked that this should be done so as to allow him to go up for a C certificate. — Application granted. Letter read from Mrs Boddy, an assistant at Feilding, resigning. Resolved, That her resignation be accepted, and that the position be advertised.
