The Wellington Landed Property Guide

The May number of Messrs Kennedy Maedonald and Co.'s "Wellintan Landed Property Guide" is to hand and is the largest and most complete which has yet been issued. In the lists of small farms and pastoral runs we find that most of the properties submitted for sale or lease are entered for the first time, and we should think that those wishing to invest in any of these classes of property are hard indeed to please if they do not find something to suit them on perusing the one hundred and thirty odd pages of the "Guide." The reports of sales during the past quarter are very numerous and represent a Talue of nearly £100,000, without taking into account crown lands sold and leased, particulars of which are also given in the shape of articles and legal decisions on land topics and Ktemos- of general information. In their general land report Messrs T. Kennedy Maedonald and Co., the publishers say : — " During the past quarter the demand for City property Jias been fully maintained, at prices quite equal to, and in some cases, exceeding previous quotations. The great bulk of the purchases have been for personal occupation. The speculative element is altogether wanting. The enquiries for country hinds is increasing: Many city residents are anxious to secure good farm land ; whilst those with small properties, in districts close to the town, are increasing their holdings in other less thickly populated localities. The unqualified success which has attended the two sales by us, on behalf of the Wellington and Manawatu Bail way Company, proves, beyond a doubt, that there is a kealthy demand for good agricultural or pastoral land for boM fide settlement. The total area disposed of, in two sales in question, was 15,---6Q5 acres of unimproved laud, distributed between upwards of one hundred buyers, some of whom have already made arrangements for the improvement of their respective sections." No one in searoh of an inrestment in landed property should be without a copy of the Guide, which is published gratis and will be posted ' free to any address on application to Messrs T. Kennedy Maedonald and Co., Land and Mescantile Auctioneers, Manners street, Wellington.
