We (Wanganui Herald) learn that a gentleman who has just come down from the Waimarino is loud in its praises<He lays the block is a great deal better than most people are aware, the greater portion of it being really excellent land. It is the intention of the Government, we beiiere. to get the land surveyed as soon as she wet season is over, and for this purpose a large number of surveyors will be sent up the river. Our informant states that the road from Pipiriki to Hanoi should bo widened as soon ns possible, so that communication by dray may be opened up, a* there is already a considerable trade being done with the Murimotu district. Tn this trade Wanganui should be abl» to hold its own, but at prcspnt goods can he- conveyed from Auckland to Taupo, a much greater dis» fa nee. at less expense than from here. Givm a suitable .siwuner and agood road there is no doubt but this district will do its share u£ llic irudc in thai dirt'OUuii.
