'■ The latest accounts receired from Perth ( Western Australia) regarding the disaster^ Co the pearling; fleet are of a somewhat conflicting character. The fleet is reported to hare been 250 miles to the north-east of Cossack when the hurricane occurred, most of the boats being well laden with shells. The master of the Australian reports that 48 of the craft were in (Jourdon Bay, many of them being seriously damaged. He supplied crews with food. He reports that many bodiet* were seen floating about in the vioihs ; ity. The total number of boats-Ids-is estimated; at 40, and 500 men are missing. Latest news from Perth shows that the accounts of the disaster to the pearling fleet are conflicting, and it is doubtful if the deaths exceed 300, and. they are possibly less. Sydkey, April 30. • ' Accounts received, from Western Australia of the shipping disaster state that six schooners and fifty luggers contained six men each are missing. It is considered probable that many of the boats have been blown out to sea. Of the entire fleet 56 vessels were owned by a Sydney firm.
