Singular Misadventure
Melbourne, MaTch 22, A fatal accident of a very distressing character occurred at Geelong last Wednesday. Mr Stephen Tanner, a resident of Cowes' creek reported to the police that he had accidentlly killed his eon, Leonard Paul Tanner. It appears that at half -past ■ seven o'clock that morning: Mr Tanner, was going to work, and he mended taking away a cat to let loose among the rabbits where 'He worked. He caught the cat, but it escaped, after scratching his arm, on to the roof. He picked cup a brick, weighing, about 1 lib, wJkich/ he threw at the animal.; It missed -and. went over the roof. He heard his wife call out "Oh my poor Leonard," and he ran round, the building 46 ascertain what was wrong when he saw. his wife dragging the de-eased-off the roof of the pigstye. Blood was-fldwing from the boy's head and he< appeared to be stunned. He died ten 1 minutes after the brick was thrown^' The Coroner's jury returned a verdict of ''Accidental death" in the ease. v; WJ :■;„.-><: -■ ; ..■'■-■
