Sheep Inspection

We notice with regret that the services of several officers in the Sheep Department wilL be dispensed with now that the colony is practically free of scab. The reductions will be made on the return of Mr Bailey, Chief Inspector, from his Southern visit of inspection. We think this is a mistake. In order to keep the flocks clean the services of those men should be retained. The enormous annual increase in the numbers of sheep in the colony ought to be sufficient to justify the Government in keeping up the numbers of the Sheep Inspectors.
