Sydney give particulars of recant rains throughout Australia, and, further, several leading merchants aver that it will be almost unnecessary to look outside for supplies; we quote nominally, fid for salt and 8d for fresh samples of the beat quality. Cheese is heavily overstocked, and prices rule at 4|d to s£d tot parcels. Hams and bacon, pending arrival of the new cure, are dull ; the market has been perfectly flooded with various descriptions of farmers' eure, which, to clear, has been moved off at 2dto3d per Ib ; factory samples rule from flfd to 7d- There are no alterations in grain and breadstuffs, and we repeat last week's quotations — -Flour, from LlO for new and LlO 15s for old grist; branL4; pollard, X*4 10b; vheatmeal, LlO lQs ; short oata, 2% Id; long do, 2s per bushel ; oatmeal* LlO 10s; sheaf chaff, L4 10s; straw do, L3 los; fowls' wheat, 3s 6d ; do, 3s lOd; feed barley, 2s 9d to 2a lOd; maize, 4s 9d; Derwent potatoes, 555 ; onions, L6; beans, 3s 9d; peas, 3s 6d', machine-dressed ryegrasE, 3s 9d to 4s per bushel; cocksfoot do, 3|d to 4d per lb. Eggs jare scarce at Is 5d per doz. Poultry, very dull — Fowls, from 3s ; ducks, 3s £d ; geese 5s 6d ; and turkeys, 9s per pair. The demand for fruit is somewhat brisk, but arrivals have been few, the only large quantity being from. Sydney, and moderate shipments from Melbourne; Nelson has contributed nothing for the past fortnight oranges ruled from 9s ; lemons, 7s 6d ; t>ears, 12; apples, 6s (cases); pears, ' 78 (l-oases); plums, 7s; pines, 18s to 20s; water melons, 5s per doz. Anticipated consignment from Sydney jand Hobarfc, due next week, will meat * ready demand, and if in good order condition, full prices should be *he result of toe sales,"
