I view of acquiring a block of land at j Raglan for special settlement purposes referred to the new Bill about to be introduced by the Government. A second deputation waited on Mr Ballance on the subject bf sending a paid lecturer on the special settlement scheme to England. The persons holding land adjacent to the block owned by the Government should jyin. in the scheme and contribute towards the salary of such officer. Mr Ballance said he did not like the idea of mixing up private enterprises, with State business.
