From Mr McManus, applying for M the assistance of the Council towards maintaining his invalid wife. I The Finance Committee accounts, i amounting to £32 13s Id, were passed for payment. The Public Works Committee accounts, amounting to £77 10s lOd were passed for payment. Proposed by Or J. C Thompson, seconded by Or Worsfold, That the Public Works Committee be requested iio enquire into the matter complained of by .Mr. W. Stevens.— Carried. - The application of Mr McMsama was then considered. The Mayor proposed* and Cr Bartholomew seconded, That an allowance of 5s per week be made to Mr McManus until further notice. Lyne be accepted for the formation of North and West streets. — Carried. Proposed by Cr Worsfold, seconded by Cr BartholoniPw, That the tender of Gr. Wickham be accepted for Monniouth street, and G. A. Lyne for Duke street. — Carried. Proposed by Cr Thompson, seconded by Cr Worsfold, That the tender of J. Belfit be accepted for the formation of Hobson, Weld, Fergusson, and Fitzroy streets, and Railway line* — Carried. ; This being all the business the meeting then adjourned.
