Terrible Fight With a Lion

A fearful affair is reported from Yerviers, in Belgium. On the night of the 27th November an untrained lion, appropriately called Brutus, on being led into a cage, which an attendant named Greiuier had not had time to leave showed signs of great excitement, taking prodigious leaps all about the cage and uttering appalling roars Seeing the man in danger the lion queen, a Madame Souinet, entered the cage to enable Gremier to withdraw, when the lion rushed at her and fastened his teeth in the lower part of her face.
