Auckland, January 7
An old woman named Foley, wife of a bookbinder, fell into the fire and was nearly roasted alive. She is in the hospital, and her life is despaired of.
James Treuwith, a carter in the employ of the Auckland Timber Company, was shockingly injured on Saturday by being run over by a night soil cart in Dock-street. He died at the Hospital yesterday from the injuries. Deceased is said to have been the worse of drink, and was sleeping, on the roadway.
Chbistchuhch, February 7. Frederick J. Parsons dropped dead at Castle Hill station on Saturday.
Nelsok, February 7.
Arthur Avery, aged 18 was drowned while bathing in the river at Spring Grove yesterday.

Mr McAllister, a farmer on the Durham Boad, was attacked bj, a bull The animal's horns growing down, it was not able to toss the man but rolled him along and tried to gore him. McAllister was very much hurt.
Duxbdin. January 1.
The body of Andrew Southberg, an old and respected miner at Skipper's, was found in Lake Wakatipu. He had been despondent of late, and suicide is suspected.
Wbstpobt, January 7.
A man generally known as Dan Garney (Dennis Garrey) was drowned in Tidal Greek on Friday while attempting to get ashore from a boat. His companion, named Patterson, had a narrow escape.
Nblsojt, February 7. Willie Walker,, a youth 17 years of age, whilst trymg 'to oross the Aorere Hirer, at Collingwood, on Sunday night, was drowned. He was riding a horse, and leading another, but there was a flood in the river. The horse was found on Monday, and at 4 o'clock the body was found.
