Meteorological Report for the week ended Friday, February 4, 1886. The following table shows the readings of the barometer and rain guagc at 9.30 a.m. on the days mentioned, and the maximum and minimum temperature during the nrecedinff 24 hours : — i
N.B. — The past month of January was remarkable both for absence of rain and for its high temperature. The rain fall during the month was o*2l inches, only registered on the 29th and 30th, there was a complete absence of rain for 32 days, from 27th December to 29th January. The mean maximum temperature in shade was 8836 as against 8293 in January 1886. The Mercury in thf thermometer (in shade) rose to 90 and upwards on 13 dnys, and reached 101 degrees on the 24th. It has been the hottest and driest month we have experienced since I commenced my register in 1882, Saml. Goodbehebe. Feilding, February 4, 1887.
