EXECUTION OF THE PRISONERS.
[By Electric Telegraph.— Copyright.] [KEUTKKS' '1 KLKGUAMi?-; Sydney, January 6. Newman, one of the prisoners sentenced for the mount Reunie outrage, lias been reprieved, in consequence of an exculpatory letter written by Duffy, who ie amongst those sentenced to death. Hall has also been commuted to imprisonment in irons for life. The other four, Duffy, Boyce, Martin, and Read, will be excuted to-morrow. January 7. The Mount Rennie convicts were executed at Darlinghurst Gaol at 9 o'clock this morning. About 150 persons were present. Read handed a written statement declaring the innocence of himself and thoso who were reprieved, except Donnellan. There was no demonstration in or outside the gaol. Of the four men hanged, Boyce died hardest, struggling a great j deal, the others being quiet.
