More Scandal
All sorts of mysterious rumors are flying about the clubs relative to a scandal in high life, which it is alleged the Prince of Wales has succeeded in hushing up. ' Vanity tfair' professes to hare got to the bottom of the business, but daro not do more than hint at the parties concerned. The atory, at any rate, goea that a young and lorely peeress, with a statesman husband and three charming children, has taken to " pale brandy," and recently appeared (by herself) at a great ball in the country in "an unmistakeable condition. 1 ' The hostess good-natur-edly tried to screen the unfortunate woman, but fruitlessly, and she disgraced herself thoroughly. Lord , ©a hearing of the affair, seemed thunderstruck. He was away fishing in Norway at the time, and had to be sent for. His first inclination was to separate his wife altogether both from her children and himself, and to place herunler semi -restraint. Here, however, friends and royalty intervened, and the l&dy is now ou probation.
