School Frizes
In another column a correspondent, over the signature of "Cornubia," makes a valuable suggestion as to a means of raising funds for the purchase of school prizes to be given to children attending the State School. We hope it will be adopted by some of the ladies and gentlemen of Feilding, who have, on previous similar occasions, given their services as musicians to assist in a good cause. Nothing gives such a zest to the school life of studious children, as the knowledge that at the end of the year their labors and self-denial, will meet with tangible rewards, as well as public approval. It also acts as an incentive to increased efforts during the coming year; while a feeling of useful emulation is excited in the minds of those who have not been so successful in the race. The whole sum required is about tea or twelve pounds, and that could easily b© raised by one entertainment.
