The Feilding Star. THURS DAY, DEC. 16, 1886. The Retiring Mayor
Yesterday MrF. Y. Lethbridge, who has held the office of Mayor of the Borough of Feilding for three years, the last two of which were in succession, handed over the reins of office to Mr S. Goodbehere, who has been elected for the ensuing year. During his term of office, Mr Lethbridge has won golden opinions from the Councillors, with whom his relationships hare always been of the pleasantest, as well as the general body of the ratepayers. His invariable courtesy, combined with great natural tact, has enabled him to escape many of the annoyances and worries which almost invariably fall to the lot of the occupant of the Mayoral chair. In him the poor and sick have always found a friend ready and willing to assist in their hour of need. The financial affairs of the Council have been managed with judicious economy, guided by a proper desoretion in expending the funds of the ratepayers in the manner most conservative of the general welfare of the Borough. We have pleasure in stating that Mr Lethbridge carries with him the good wishes of every resident in the Borough.
