Installation of Mayor
The ceremony of installing Mr S. Goodbehere as Mayor of the Borough of Feilding, took place yesterday at noon. The follow ing Councillors were present: — P. Thomson, J. Bishop, G. 'I. H. Lyne, T W. K. Foster, G. W. Fowles, and J. C. Thompson. Among the public present we noticed Mr Macarthur, M .H.R., Messrs Curtis, Kirton, Hodgson, and others. Or Fowles having stated the object of the meeting, the Mayor-elect, Mr .Samuel Goodbehere, made the usual declaration. He thanked the burgesses and others who had called him to the high position, and he could only say he would perform the duties of his office with diligence and to the best of his abilities. He then made the usual declaration as a Councillor. Or J. C. Thompson, aa one of the fldnior Councillors, welcomed Mr S. Ooodbahere as Mayor, He spoke highly of the retiring Mayor, and said he had no doubt their relations with tha new one would be as pleasant. The Mayor having thanked the Councillors, the. Council adjourned.
