George Thomas and Co report :— We quote mnrkel rativs for flour LI I to Ll2 ' 10s; feed oats, 2s 5d to 2s 7d ; oatmeal LI2 10s ; bran, L5 ; poll.ard, L5 5s ; Fowl wheat is 6d ; wheat meal, LI 1 10s ; feed barley, 2s 8d to 2s lOd ; maize, 3s 8d to 3s lOd ; beans 3s lid to 4s; rye grass, 4s 9d per bushel ; prime Canterbury hams and bacon, 7d all rounc 1 in cloth, bare -id per lb lower; new cheese, 6^d fresh butter, 7d ; salt do, without enquiry ; pastrr samples, 3d to sd. Fair supplies of fruit and other spring produce have reached the market this week and for plums, apricots, oranges, lemons, mandarins, pines, gooseberries and strawberries a brisk demand existed and full values were realised. Unfortunately, Sydney consignments, ex.Tekapo, arrived in bad order. Hobart French crabs ruled fro.-n 13s, and stermer pippins 15s Gd downward. New potatoes, in con-se* quence of heavy supplies, have lowered to L 7 and L 7 10s per ton ; green peas are neglected at the average price of od per peck ; esgs firm at 10d per doz. Expeeled arrivals of bananas and other Fiji fruit on Monday should sell at top pi ices. Poultry is in request at last quoted rates."
