John Morley, in addressing a public meeting at Hawick last night declared the outlet of Ireland at present to be very bad, and tbe social order of that country and the settlement of the land question was not obtainable without Home Rule. The wetl-known Australian trader ship Melpomene bas been caught in a cyclone off Madras. The Melpomene had on board a large number oF pilgrims for Mecca, of whom twenty -three have died from tbe injuries received during the buffetings of the vessel. The captain and crew are also hurt. An extensive conspiracy, having for its object the kidnapping of King Milan, of Servia. bas been frustrated. Bkrlin, November 29.
