New Timetable

The train service which will come into force to-morrow was at one time likely t« interfere somewhat with the prospects of the success of the Manchester Horticultural Show. Fortunately the Secretary, Mr E. Goodbehere, has been able to make arrangements which obviate any neoessity for altering the programme. On and af tor tomorrow all local traffic by rail will cease, and the settlers, who have hitherto contributed liberally to the railway revenue, will have to depend on their own resources. We have some consolation in knowing that the new timetable cannot last a month. It is so utterly foolish that we find it difficult to understand how men in their senses could compile such a production. We have not heard a single word in its favor, while it has been abused and laughed at as the most idiotic conception that ever emanated from the bram of an imbecile.
