The Campbell Divorce Suit

(FBOK POST'S CORRESPONDENT.) ; Ikjndon, November 16. ; Strenuous efforts have been made ; \>y the highest personages in the land j to hash, ap the Campbell divorce case 1 in which Lady Campbell and Sir Colin j •Campbell, brother of the Marquis of Tiorae, are the principals. As the efforts of those of Royal blood have failed to secure a quietus of the affair it is considered that the friends of the parties will be unlikely to succeed. Therefore it is, expected that within a fortnight from the present time London will be flooded with the particulars of one of the most, revolting social scandals the present generation has had for its perusal. The counsels' briefs show that Lady Coliu Campbfill is charged with having commit d adultery with the Duke of Marlborough in London, Paris, Purfleet, and Somerset. Her ladyship is also charged with haviug committed adultery with ■ Captain Shaw and Colonel Butler in her own house, with Dr Bird, a venerable family physician in London and other places, and with eosie unknown person on the 18th April, 1 883. The co-respondents have each filed a deuial to the charges. Her Ladyship filed her petition for a divorce two days before Sir Colin Campbell made the charges against her- The grounds of her petitiou are, according to her allegations, that Sir Colin Campbell has been guilty of adultery with th» maid servants of their household. The witnesses will i nelude the Duke of Argyll, the Marquis of Lome, and Lady Mills.
