Two men, a father and son,, named Ross* were working at a contract job let by the Bay of Islands. -County Council to R. Farrar, at Eawaka. While- the two, were excarating some earth out of a hole, the soa was at wort below, sorafc earth fell aa the poor kd, burying him beneath. On extricating him from the- debri* it was found that his thigh was broken,, and the t>»roal cord at the back of thft neck was severed and his head much bruised. Death must have been instantaneous. Ah inquest was held yesterday, and the jury found .*x?t^ diet of accidental death.
