Wie-heli three stock sales last -week, our ordinary sale at Awahuri on the 1(5 inst., a sale at PaUuerston in conjunction 'with We Soelsou «n the 18th inst., and the yaii* bred stock sale in conjunction ■with. Messrs F. R. Jackson and Co on the 20fch tnsfc-,. we also sold a few fat wethers «v the afternoon of the show at Palmersten on the 19th. We had very fair entries at Awahun and disposed of most of them, and we sold nearly everything in Mr Suelson's yards. At the pure bred stock sale we offered on behalf of A. A. FanthamEsq., Egmont View, Hawera, 5 pedigree Shorthorn bulls aad 16 pedigree Shorthorn cows from his celebrated herd, most of which were put up without Teaerve resulting in 3 of the bulls and 10 of the cows being sold under the hammer at prices detailed below, which considering the excellent quality of the stock offered were more in favor of the purchasers than the vendor. The bidding was not so spirited as might have "been expected at a sale of that class, tkeugh for the bull calf " Ammon" which took first prize at tne show, and the Duke of Dernmut which took a second prize, and the pure bred cow Lady Loftus 2nd, which took first' prize, there was a fair competition. Ammon falling to the bid of Mr Peebles at 10 guineas, Duke of Dernmut to that of Mr Cotter for 23 guineas, Air M. Prendei-gast securing Lady Loftus for 20 guineas. We offered also on behalf of Mr Sheilds, of Whenuakura, a splendid line of Lincoln ram hoggets, but were only able to sell one under the hammer, that bringing 3 guineas, we, however, sold after the sale 6 more at 5 guineas and 5 at 4 guineas. The following is the detail of the prices ' the pure bred stock brought : — Duke of Derrimut, 2nd, 13 months old, E. A. Campbell, 12^ guineas : roan heifer Silky Flirt 2nd, yearling, A. Peebles. 9 guineas ; white heifer Queen of Turnips. 10 n.onths, EL S. Palmerson, 9 guineas ; Lady Edinburgh, 3 years, Mr .M. Prenderj ast, 7£ guineas ; Sunless, 3£ years, H. Cameron, 8 guineas , Queen Eliza, 3£ years, Mr M. Prehdergast, 8 guineas ; Grand Duchess Hawera 2nd, H. Cameron, 12 guineas ; Grand Duchess of Hawera 3rd, W. Cameron, 9J guineas : Royal Belle 3rd, 4yeara, W. Akers, 6£ guineas , Queen o Turnips Ist, with calf, W. F. Jacob, 10 • guineas. At Awahuri : Fat cows, £4 15/- , 2£-year steers, £3 to £3 7/- ; 18---fm. months and 2-year-old steers, £2 6/-; 18 • months heifers, 30/- ; weaners (heifers), 17/6 ; 2-tooth wethers, 5/6. At Palmerston, on the 18th : 2-year steers, £3 1/- ; 18-months, mixed (nearly all steers), 36/- ; milkers. £2 9/6 to £3 10/ ; 2-year half-bred Alderney, £3 2/- ; fat wethers at the show, 7/9, 8/-, 8/6, 9/-, and 10/6.
