Fatal Accident at Palmerston
Considerable excitement prevailed on Saturday evening, when it became known throughout the town that a very severe accident had happened to a man named John Fagan, through a fall from his horse, from which it was 1 probable he would not recover. la consequence a crowd collected in the ; vicinity, and within half an hour it transpired that the poor fellow had succumbed to his injuries without anpr sign of consciousness. The sad affair threw quite a gloom over the town for the rest of the evening. The deceased was a married man, about 35 years of age, and he had a farm at Sandon. He was born in the colony, and leaves a family of five sons, whose ages range from 10 years to 1$ months. An inquest was held yesterday morning, when the jury, without retiring, brought in a verdict to the effect that death resulted accidentally through a fall from a hone.— Times.
