A very dangerous accident, if it may bo called so, occurred to Mr Colville yesterday evening when he was leaving Palmerston for Feilding. It appear* that some lads were celebrating the anniversary of Guy Fawkes on the Square, by letting off squibs and fireworks around an offigy supposed, to represent that one time well-known character. Mr Colville had a young horse in his trap, and when a bunch of exploding crackers was thrown among its legs it played up fearfully in its terror. Mr Colville was thrown out, and rendered unconscious for a few moments. When he recovered he found the trap was smashed to pieces, and the horse's log broken so that the animal, which was a valuable one, being onlytwo years old, had to be shot this morning. The losb is a heavy one to Mr Colville, but one for which he can in no way blame any one but the civil authorities who permitted the exhibition of fireworks.
