The Bed House

The following is a description of the new; building erected by Mr S, J. Thompson, in Kimbolton road:— The main building is 60 by 30 feet with . walls 15 feet in height. There is a large store room upstairs for light goods. A convenient office is in thecentre.of the shop which is amply fur. nished with panel fronted counters running the full length of the room, aud convenient shelves, which are of white pine with the edges stained and varnished, are placed on the sides reaching 10 feet 6 inohes in height. The show tableon the main door is most: commodious. One side of the shop is. devoted to drapery goods, and boots,. and the other to groceries, ironmongery and crockery. There arethree large windows in front shaded with a large verandah. The ,whel<* frontage to the street i& 45. feet We understand Mr Thompson intends to. lay the footpath with cement car concrete at an early data Mr W. Watte was the builder, and has completed his contract in a highly satisfactory manner, Mr J. Fowles did the- paint work and Mr P. Thomson the plumbing, the whole making a ereditablo job, the presence of the- building being a marked improvement to th» street.
