Railway Bates for Cattle
We make the following extracts from a table compiled by Messrs F. E. Jackson and Co., of tariff rates for single and double trucks from any stations to Johnsonville : — Halcombe, — Cattle truck, 59/8; bullocks per head, 8/7 ; cows, 7/6 ; double floored trucks, 72/3 ; sheep per head, 1/1. Feilding;— Cattle truck, 57/8; bullocks per head, 8/3; cows, 7/3; double floored trucks, 66/3 ; sheep per head. If- : Terrace End.— Cattle truck, 57/8 ; bullocks per head, 8/3; cows 7/8: iouble floored trucks, 65/6 ; sheep per dead 1/-. Longburn.— Cattle trucks, 42/8; hillocks per head, 6/1 ; cows, 5/4 ; double trucks, 50/6 ; sheep per head, lOd. Each cattle truck takes 7 fat bulocks, 8 fat cows, each sheep or double ruck takes 60 to 70 fat sheep.
