STEVENS AND GORTON'S STOCK REPORT.
We are glad to be able to report better prices at our sales last week. Though our entries at Marton were small, there was spirited bidding for what was sold, resulting in satisfactory prices. We yarded an unusually large number of cattle at Feilding, many pens being offered without reserve, which brought forth spirited bidding, and resulted as we always find it, in muoh better prices being obtained than where the publie know reserves are put on. We. sold most of the cattle and all the sheep. We quote : — Cattle.— Marton : 18-month to 2-year heifers, 37/- to 37/6; 2^-year heifers, £2 12/6; bull, £3 10/-. Feilding: 3 and 4year bullocks, £5 5/- ; 3-year steers. £4 2/6; 2-year steers, £3 2/-; year steers, 35/6 to £2 6/- ; cows, £2 1/- to £2 2/6 ; milkers £3 6/- to £4 5/-; fat cows, £3 16/- ; 18-month to 2-year heifers, 36/- ; 18-month mixed, 31/-; 18-month steers, £2 10/6; mixed calves, 16/-. Sheep.— Marton : Ewes with lambs, 7/3 ; store ewes, 5/-. Feilding: Hoggets, mixed, 7/3 to 8/2 ; mixed sheep, 7/6 ; culls, 3/6.
