'"" At , the inquest on the body of William Elwin, who <»mmrtted suicide by hanging himself yesterday, evidence was given that a man named Burrows, who was lodging at Eiwin's saw hjim (Elwin) kicking after hanging himself, but refused to cut him down until the police had arrived. Had the body been -cut down when first seen, probably the man would have lived. The Coroner said : " This, is the most dreadful thing I ever heard of, and it is most extraordinary that a man, seeing one of his fellow creatures in a position of danger, should not attempt to save him till the police had been sent for." r JChe jury returned a verdict of temporary insanity, and passed a vote of censure 6a Burrows. •- ..' •• ;• : •••
